Good News! Nintendo did something right!

I thought Nintendo would only let Wii users play online games if both users knew each other's friend codes. If you did not know anyone else's friend code, you could not play online games. However look what I found on IGN.com.

"When logged into the network you've got the option to battle friends, compete against a randomly selected competitor in a ranked game, look at the leaderboard or evaluate your friend roster."

Nintendo has done a lot right lately... just look at the sales figures!
Xbox 360 12 million ish in 1.5 years
Wii: 9.3 million in just 7 months!
PS3: 4.7 million in 7 months

 

I bought one of those 9.3 million Wiis.

 

They've been doing that since the debut of Nintendo Wifi Connection (Mario Kart). This method BLOWS compared to a full blown lobby where you can chat, meet up with friends and join a game.

hmm, one to rent. I could see how this would be fun. gotta beat Zelda first.

 

If these numbers are correct why does everyone seem to be giving the PS3 such a hard time, saying its sales suck compared to the competition (xbox 360 mainly). If I am doing my math correctly xbox is averaging 666,666 units sold a month, where PS3 is averaging 671,428 units per month. That looks as if the PS3 is on track to beat xbox 360 sales in it's first year.

 

Remember sales slow down as time moves forward. I am sorry, but things are looking bad for the PS3.

Back to the online topic.

 

The Wii's online idea...is well garbage when it comes to multiplayer if you ask me.It does a good job with it's browser and all the various online channel options and with multiplayer locally. The PS3 and 360 have a much better online multiplayer system it has.

 

So far only 2 games are available online for the Wii. Give it a little time.

Pokemon, which IGN said is terrible. It is completely worthless. Mario Strikers Charged is the complete opposite. IGN says it works great.

 

no it's not. Things are looking much better considering that their big titles are going to be rolling out Q4 and 2008 Q1. Sony would never give up, they're too large of a company.

 

yeah not be off topic but, ps3 sales are selling faster now, and how come everyone says things are looking bad for the ps3 look at xbox sales last year this time.

 

It's odd, but Xbox 360 software sales (aka games... doh) are still higher than the Wii (and obviously the PS3... LOL). Damn Microsoft! My Xbox 360 is still broken from that stupid 3RL problem!!! I'm still wondering if I should get a Wii or a PS3. But I remember my friend's Wii on my HDTV... it looked like crap. I'm so tempted by Gran Turismo 5 on the PS3 and Smash Bros Brawl on the Wii. >_< Yeah, I don't care about FF13 and MGS4 on the PS3, only Gran Turismo 5. XD

 

What about the new DMC game for the PS3?? That game looks hard core. Also the PS3 has the game resistance going for it. It's a tough decision though symphonyx because the wii has some good titles going for it too, although sadly most are ports and sequels of previous success...*sigh*

 

yeah i had a wii and it got old after a week or zelda and wii sports so i sold it and got a 360, but wish i got a ps3

 

wii is most worth buying this holiday (that's when I'll buy mine =]).
