what sort of information are you looking for? general gaming or specific game discussions?

HardOCP has an active forum in many categories, general PC gaming:
    PC Gaming & Hardware - [H]ard|Forum

For specific games you won't often find good information on a general site/forum. Its different by game where the community gets together and shares information.

One of the premier gaming website on the net is: http://www.operationsports.com You'll find all kinds of gaming forums from Sports to non-sports. This particular website gets tons of visits from devs in the business.

Beware though the maturity level is usually on the low side. But for content and information it's very good.

Hands down the best gaming site is mmorpg.com which is focused of course on mmorpg's(massive online role playing games) but alot of the games releasing that arnt mmo splash over onto there site more often then not. Also one that I dont go to often but Iv been too once just recently is mlgpro.com. It dosnt really hold my interest that much but IT looks like alot of people use it and maybee your into that thing more then I.

Gamefaqs.com has a pretty descent PC section.....boards dedicated to specific games and PC gaming in general.

GFAQs is stuck in the early 90s.

Too many posters who are too elitist to even want a quote function.

I couldn't take it anymore, once vBulletin became wide spread.

They recently updated the sites software but the elitist posters are still present.

LOL elitist gamers? That is pretty pathetic. I have to go check it out.

IMO this is a pretty good gaming forum. I like the mix of games/hardware talk.

The people we were talking about aren't elitist gamers, they're elitist message board posters.

Just go to GameFAQs.com, and check out how behind the times the message boards are; they're so old fashioned because those with seniority believe that updates would ruin the sanctity of the site.

There are people who threaten to leave GameFAQs, if the abilities to edit posts, or to send private messages are added.

    I kid you not:

seconded! That's where I go for all my Company of Heroes research/questions. they might not have a forum for every game out there, but what the do cover is really good, and they have a lot of experienced players contributing. I'd check it out!
