It will max out your games, but I am curious, what type of laptop did you buy?

I'm curious as to the point of these threads, i'm sure you know what you were purchasing especially considering that these laptops don't come cheap.

That'll be a pretty beastly gaming laptop for quite a while, it's not at the very top end (that would require a faster processor, Crossfire 6990's instead of a single card, and probably at least a couple thousand more dollars), but it's near it.

The real question, though, is this: if you are asking whether or not such an expensive laptop is worth your money, why did you wait until after you bought it to ask? :p

How much did you get the laptop for?

What would make you think you got screwed?

Skyrim specs have not been released yet.

In any case, of course the OP should be just fine with the 6990m, as Skyrim is not likely to be any more demanding than most 2010-2011 games.

    Step 1.
Go to local store and ask for the most expensive gaming notebook they have. Buy it.

    Step 2.
Go to forum and ask "will i get screwed with my notebook?"

That doesnt make sense to me :D

LOL. Is this a troll? That's pretty much a top end machine. 6990m is fastest GPU available (next to 580m).

I customized a high end gaming laptop in XoticPC, sager, malibal and the price/specs is within range $1,500 - $1,700 without secondary HDD.
It's 6990M, but the price shoots high when configured with 580M.

Edit: I forgot to tell, they have $150 and some $100 company discount aside from $50 discount on the site of XoticPC.

$1500-1700 sounds very reasonable imo unless of course there is a better deal out there. That fits within my budget of decent gaming setup of right under $2000. Good find.

Technically you cant really max out the latest games. An OC will def help, you will need to turn AA off and some other stuff but you should have no problems with textures etc.

No problem, sometimes when I just kill time I read some sites regarding portable gaming rigs. Good quality and good price.

I think I understand his question. Yes your laptop will be able to run skyrim, now whether or not you can run it fully maxed is unknown at this time. Skyrim could be on the level of metro 2033 or Witcher 2 ,which means you will have to lower the settings. Since you purchased a laptop and asked about two games I'm guessing your a PC gamer and you most likely have or had a gaming desktop rig. If your trying to judge from that stand point your laptop wont even come close in terms of graphics, if your desktop has a ATI 6870 equivalent or higher.
