Forgive me if there is already a similar thread out there for this. I am building a Kaveri desktop (or 2) in the very near future, but until then, gaming has to suffice on my wife's and my ultrabooks, featuring the HD4000.

So far we have not had any issues (aside from overheating) playing NWN, NWN2, Lotro, etc, but I was hoping someone could give a good, definitive list of games that work really well on the HD4000. 720p is fine, though 900p preferred. And bonus points for quality games that are 2 player.

    I'm going to try DA:O next :)

I've had pretty good success with gaming on the Intel HD4000... obviously as you've stated it's not intended for gaming compared to a dedicated GPU, but does surprisingly decent. You will of course also get the responses I'm sure "it's slow and you can't game on that blablablah" ;)

See this link for some ideas to give you an idea of what Intel says will play:

Graphics — Sample of popular games playable with IntelĀ® HD Graphics 4000/2500

I haven't run across anything on that list I didn't find playable that I've tried, especially at 720p. Plus, there are tons more games playable keeping the specs and settings in mind.

Another good list of HD4000 playable games:

Leviathyn | A List of Playable Games For The Microsoft Surface Pro

And as octiceps has mentioned, GOG.com has some great older options that are sure to run perfectly.

    Have fun!
