Almost any laptop you buy now days(Even most laptops with integrated cards) will run those two games fine. (Though i wouldn't recommended an integrated card).

Go for one of the Asus gaming laptops at Best Buy.

You can get the G60VX 15" for $1000-$1200 (depending on CPU & hard drive) or the G72GX 17" with a dual for $1150 or Quad for $1300 (All Core 2) and GTX 260m 1GB video card. They periodically go on sale for $50-$100 off too.

I believe this is the best way to go, $1049, 260m GTX, p9700, 4GB of DDR3, 320gb HDD, and the only minor downside is the 17inch, 1440x900 monitor.

As first reply said - these are incredibly low system requirements - Anything paired with x4500/ati3200/nvidia9400 igp or better will play CS:S easily, and my 7300 LE (~3xx 3dmark06) played Combat Arms fine on an old pc. So I'd believe anything dual core from su2300 up paired with a discrete gpu+ would easily play these two games well.

Are there any upcoming games you'd like to play as well, or any resolution you'd be eager to use, as the example of su2300 is that it'd play them, but not at high resolution and unlikely to find that cpu paired with discrete gpu.

    Link didn't work. Try here:

I agree the 1440x900 resolution is kinda a bad deal, but TBH, so many people are bent on playing at native resolution, that if you want it primarily for gaming, it's not a bad deal.

    -1 for 17inch, 1440x900 Resolution haters!!!! AHHHHH!!! :D

    -1 again!! AHHHHHH!!! :D

Just kidding, lol. I own the 17inch, 1440x900, and I really like it. Ofcourse, it's a little big to carry around sometimes, but I would rather have that, than a smaller screen TBH. And seeing as it hardly moves from my desk, it acts more of a desktop than a laptop.

Anyways, back on subject, this seems like a good laptop for the price. I used to own a Gateway, and I found them to be quite a good laptop. Never did any gaming on them, but that was because it was lower end.

I'm very happy with the Asus G51 from Best Buy, snagged it for $1049. And can only imagine the new G51 is even better for the same price.... great machines, especially for the money.

I've got the slightly older model of the Gateway - FX P-7915u mentioned above and haven't had a problem with it.

As mentioned, though, a 17" notebook is a bit of a weight to carry around. However, if it is being moved around infrequently, it's great.
