The Tech Report has done an overview of the upcoming 8790M. But who cares about that, that's a mid-range card to replace the 7690M.
What I took from it... AMD has said the 8000M GCN is the same as the GCN from 7000M, no new features etc. Why is this good news? Well, that means whatever driver improvements they make for the 8000M will be improvements for the 7000M GCN also. And they do need to keep improving them.

We already knew they were rebranding the mid range chip based off the 7700 desktop series and introducing a little chip based off the same tech
