it shouldn't.... I think there are configs for RV2 that increase performance, you should try one of those.

I'm having the same problem. I ran the first one just fine but now R6V2 runs choppy with everything down. And I mean EVERYTHING. So everyone seems to say the driver?? I have the latest 169 the laptop site doesn't have any past it. hope it works.

Thanks, I am going to try to get 174 driver. Its just not playable. I just went to this site ( http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/referrer/srtest) and it says my laptop can play the game easliy...so confused. :(

Can anyone put a link up to find the latest driver. Not the laptop2go.com website, it doesn't have it.

So I just bought the game and played for the last hour and half. My initial reactions:

I played the first chapter of the story mode, and my notebook got choppy frames, at the default settings (1280x800). I estimate I was playing at around 20-25fps, but I will definitely use FRAPs next time.

Then I played online, and lowered the resolution to 1024x768 and all options off. That made the experience more fluid, I estimate 30-35fps but still not completely smooth.

There aren't a lot of servers to play on yet, but even the higher pinged servers seemed fine.

There is Punkbuster for online play. I didn't hear anyone using their MICs.

Also, don't believe the minimum system requirements, I thought that UBISOFT was wayyyy too liberal. You should at least follow the recommended settings. Microsoft gives the game a 5.0 rating minimum and 5.5 for recommended, my system is only 4.7.

Ok got it and played through the tutorial story mission.

Was getting around 22-30 FPS with AA setting at 2, 1280x800, everything else high except for motion blur which was on low.

My first impression is that the graphics suck for the frame rates I'm getting. CoD4 looks better visually but I can run it at 1680x1050 on high with even some AA and AF and I get better frame rates.

COD4 definitely looks better and is better optimized for the PC than Vegas.

I just tried a server with no ping listed, a dedicated one, and for some reason my frames improved. I got at least 40fps. It was all very very smooth. Still only playing at 1024x768 with all settings low or off though.

PC Vegas definitely has a faster pace than console thanks to the mouse and keyboard.

well put it this way.. I am owning people who have 80 fps. I think this game is designed to run at 30 fps.. like there is no lag. You just don't want lag spikes. Other then that the game is smooth.

I havent played the game, but from all the screenshots I've seen, the characters look a little out of place in the game world, comes off looking kinda comic bookish which I dont think was the intent.

just got the game and i was very surprised at the performance, i was expecting to have to reduce everything down to get playable frames but i left it at the default settings with everything on and the game plays so smooth. not exactly sure about FPS tho, anyone know if theres a way to see the fps without running fraps or something

I've been having fun with this game for the past few days. I found that performance wise, my notebook can handle all the maps online until I hit Streets. I can play that map for a while but then slowly my frames start to stutter eventually. What do I need to do?

Otherwise, gameplay can be extremely fast if you're on a full server, small map, and unlimited respawns. It can even get faster than COD4. So, to tone it down to more methodical levels, I like to play games with no respawns. But, I've also found that the gamemode Team Leader gives you the best of both worlds, you can respawn as long as your team leader is alive, but when he dies your life is one and done, giving it the intense factor of valuing your final life.

If anybody wants to play with me give me a PM, I have both XFire and Steam.

Just got the game and I'm having a blast with my friend on co-op mode. The game runs a lot better than i thought, especially when my GPU is 8600M GS, i thought it wouldn't run that great but it really surprised me.

Turns out it runs great for me too. Well not great, but very playable. Especially on my external monitor at 1024x768 it's always over 30fps says FRAPS.

sorry for double posting, but.. TIP for SLI users, rename the game launch exe to unreal, you should get 10-30 FPS increase depending on stage

the game is unreal Engine, and there arent any SLI profile optimized for RSV2, so renaming it to unreal will make it use the SLI profile of Unreal.exe

Don't see how that works, unless the SLi profile for the unreal engine is coded to work when the executable file matches that of the engine's namesake game.

If it works for you though, it's not a crime to recommend the trick to others.
