Metro LL or Bioshock Infinite, both games are better than Crysis 3.

There was nothing all that compelling for me this year.

Tomb Raider definitely left an impact for me, followed closely by Shadow Warrior, Metro LL. I have yet to play Bioshock Infinite or Assassins Creed IV, so things may change... but I've never even played a Bioshock or Assassins Creed game before lol. Rising Storm as mentioned above is awesome, great game... however, I just find myself running Red Orchestra maps instead so it's not on my list, but I guess that's just me lol.

I'm the exact opposite. While I enjoyed Red Orchestra 2, when Rising Storm came out I became so addicted to it I that stopped playing RO2 altogether.

I have to agree with HTWingNut. IMHO Nothing released this year thus far deserves a GOTY title.

Seconded. Both games I immediately thought of actually came out late 2012 (Borderlands 2 and Mass Effect 3). I've actually only played one 2013 game--Heart of the Swarm--and while it's better than Wings of Liberty, it's not GOTY material.

Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag started spectacularly and at first was a real contender of mine, but quickly turned to a never ending, horrifying, awfully scripted tailing missions (i.e: 'true AC gameplay'. Blegh).

So..yeah, nothing over here as well. This year was mainly the year of the FPS, it seems.

Hmm tough one. I was hoping BF4 was going to be tops but damn the state it came out in was just pathetic. Crysis 3 was beautiful yet it just wasn't as fun as I was hoping it would be. X Rebirth was a mess. I don't know. Probably the closest thing to GOTY for me would be GTA V.

*Facepalm* How could I possibly forget this gem!

My vote for GOTY: Dead Space 3 + Arrival DLC. I absolutely loved this game, I just completely forgot about it because no one ever talks about it, and it's on Origin only :D

I can't wait for the 4th one, so far EA hasn't managed to bring the series downhill which is a major plus

I haven't played Last of us and GTA V (no consoles).

Bioshock Infinite - was pretty, however seemed shallow overall with patches of brilliance. At some point during the game the repetitive combat became too tedious; I just wanted to see how the story goes instead of actually enjoying the gameplay.

Tomb Raider - seemed mediocre to me for a lot of reasons with a meh storyline and character development for Lara.

BF4 - I've only played the campaign, fun and short with pretty ridiculous plot and good visuals, nothing special

Metro LL - I liked the game and plot (Russian bias), however besides graphics and great engine was a bit too linear with no freedom.

So maybe Last of Us? I haven't played it, but people said it was good :)

Definitely the Last of us if we are talking consoles, with GTA V close on it's heels .

On PC I really enjoyed Shadowrun returns, but then again I was a fan of the pen and paper game back in the day, that and it was a kickstarter, got to root for the underdog .

Terrible year for a long time gamer, mostly sequels or concepts that we have seen before but just a tad better. So I am going for Wonderful 101 as a Goty with pokemon X/Y as runner up, as there was some kind of innovation there.

Even though it was a great game, IMO way to short. Yeah, I know, it's $15 game, but still, to be a true GOTY it should have been at least half as long as it was.
Good thing that there are rumors that BD2 might be developed.

As for GOTY, dunno really. If we are only considering PC titles, I would probably give it to Stanley Parable. I haven't played it, but from various videos I've seen, it seems like it's a really interesting concept. Surgeon Simulator would be a close second :D. That or Euro Truck Simulator 2.

Concerning AAA titles, I haven't played a lot of 2013 games, simply because there were only few that really interested me and I'm waiting for the prices to drop.
Out of my played ones: BS Infinite, Tomb Raider, Brutal Legend (yeah it 2009/10-something port, but it only came out on PC this year), Rising Strom - all damn fine games, and I enjoyed the crap out each and every one, but for me none of them are worth the GOTY title.
Other games I'm still waiting to play are the new Batman and Metro LL. I'm sure they are awesome too, but again, I doubt there is anything ground breaking in them.

Yeah I know, but there simply wasn't much else GOTY-worthy this year. If only GTA V was to be released on PC this year...

Damn I forgot. Papers, Please. GOTY.

Seriously that game is pure brilliance of concept, knows what it wants to be and does it really well. Soundtrack alone deserves GOTY.

I haven't seen anything all too compelling that deserves GOTY 2013. Maybe, *maybe* Bioshock Infinite, but nah.

It just seems that games were more cookie-cutter this year, and that's saying a lot for an industry that runs off of cookie-cutter products...
