I had bought C&C3 a week ago and i was having fun playin the game. Sadly, i was greedy, and wanting more frames i decided to try and go back to media center (from vista). I had a recovery disc from acer, but that was all bloaty so i downloaded an OEM disc to clean install with. Sadly once the installation was finished, as the disc didnt contain drivers half my computer was no longer recognized so i wiped the disc again and went back to vista. But alas, once the installation was finished and i had reinstalled C&C3 my framerates were cut in half... The same thing with Company of Heroes happened. I tried about 5 different drivers, with all the same problem. So I reinstalled vista to see if the install went bad. Exact same problem. I was gettin desperate so i ripped out the recovery disc from acer with mediacenter and, alas, same problem. I am truly puzzled to the bone... Is it a hardware issue? fried card?

What type of Video Card? Have you installed any programs that give detail to clock speeds? Do you have power management settings that reduce the CPU and GPU under different conditions? What are the GPU settings? Do you have it set to maximum details? Or allow application to decide?

    Best Wishes,

He has an ATi X1600 (like what it says in his Sig) I have no idea why you went back to XP after you upgraded to Vista, thats a lot more work than what it is worth. But anyways.
