I was wondering, when ATI and Nvidia releases a new batch of graphic cards prior to the DX10 release, wil the ATI X1xxx series or Nvidia 7xxx series have a price drop?

    Thanks for any replies, Daniel

Some cards may decrease in price, but more powerful cards like the X1800 and 7900 varients, will probably stay the same. When Nvidia and Ati do release these new cards, hich is a while away, they will probably concentrate on midrange, and the more powerful cards will come later.

Even now, the older generation cards found in fewer laptops, are priced quite highly. there are still laptops with the X700 card, that are priced almost the same as the X1600, which is more powerful.

Yeah, suppose so. I'm saving up for a new rig to play Crysis.

It's impossible to tell. Don't expect DX10 to be in laptops in full force for a long time. Longer than you'll probably want to wait to get a new notebook.

I don't think even the enthusiasts will be ditching their DX9 cards in the beginning, because there will be a very limited selection of DX10 games, and there will be DX9 versions for quite some time. DX10 looks like it might be a niche market for a while.
