A lot of things can cause this. It is almost always a process issue. If your running FRAPS, turn that off. Try turning off wifi and bluetooth both. Turn off any anti-virus, anti-spyware, anti-anything. Close out any and all unneeded processes and services, update your BIOS, update drivers (Try 180.70) and see if all that doesn't help.

What changed from today compared to yesterday? Was ANYTHING installed or configurations changed?

yea today i downloaded 180.70 driver, thats when i started experiencing these hiccups, i then tried downgrading to 173.13 driver but the hiccups are still there.

Sorry to post on this old thread, but I also have the ocassional hiccups/stuttering about every 30 seconds, although my frame rate always stays above 30 fps. They are very fast, but it's still annoying (it happens on farcry 2 and sometimes on fallout 3 too).

I almost don't run any services while gaming, I don't know if this have anything to do with Vista x64. Does anyone have similar problems?

    These are my specs:
GPU: Nvidia 9800m gts with 179.28 Nvidia Notebook Drivers
    CPU: Intel t8100 @2.1GHz
    RAM: 4GB DDR2 @667MHz
    HDD: 250GB 7200RPM
