I live in Australia, i want a laptop with somewhat portability, not a must. A lot of encoding/converting movie files/stuff, and gaming. Living in Australia- there is a $500 difference for the 2 laptops. Concerning the graphic differences, is it worth the extra $500 for the asus?

    Dell 1520- main specs
    C2D 2Ghz
    2GB Ram
Nvidia GeForce Go 8600M GT 256MB
    160GB 7,2000rpm
    Extra- Blue tooth module

    Asus G1- main specs
    C2D 2Ghz
    2GB Ram
NVIDIA GeForceGo 7700 GPU 512 MB
    160GB 7,2000rpm

No, the Asus is a gaming laptop, but the 8600M GT is from the new generation directx (directx 10) and is a lot stronger than the Go 7700. I would buy the Dell. I also don't like the flashy looks of the Asus G1. But that's personal.

It would play them with ease. This card will run those games at high settings with very good framerates.
