Hey guys, I was wondering what laptop GPU would be capable of playing Modern Warfare 3 at native settings(Max settings, resolution), without being too expensive?
    Thanks.

I have the 560m gtx and I can max all the setting at 1080p native with average fps above 60. I have a feeling the 555m GT and 540m GT can also handle it max too. This isn't really a demanding game. As for ATI cards, I don't have a clue.

My desktop's old 8800GT can max out MW3 with no trouble. It's both a blessing and a curse that the Modern Warfare series never bothers updating its underlying technology...on the one hand, the graphics never really advance, but on the other hand, it runs smoothly on a broad range of hardware.

Thats what I was thinking as well, haha. I don't have a clue about ATI cards either
    Thanks for your reply though.

I have quite an old laptop, which is why I'm thinking to upgrade.
I have an old m1730(yes, the dreadful XPS m1730), with the X9000, and 9800m GT's in SLI. I'm not really able to run the game at max settings smoothly though. If I change everything to native(max settings, max resolution) with 2xAA, I only get an average of 50FPS, which in my opinion, is not too playable(yes, I'm competitive haha, played counterstrike for years in CAL)

I wish I could say that about my notebook haha. My laptop has 2x9800m GT's in SLI, and I can max it out as well- except with trouble

I think as for ATi cards, a 6770M could probably get close, and a 6870M could definitely max it out.

I don't know about those, but sounds right to me.
    Thanks.

I'm getting 120 locked (jump further!) maxed @ native on my 6990m. When the new GFX cards come out in a few weeks, the prices will shift and drop.

Doesn't the 6990m rival the 580m though? That means $$$$ haha.
Anyways, quite jealous of your 6990m, hope it treats you well! :D
