Hey. Firstly, if I have posted this in the wrong place then I'm sorry.

Some of you may remember me, I'm the guy who spent ?700 on a new laptop to then find out it didn't have the one thing I wanted, an ATI X600, it had an integrated graphics card! I certainly don't have a spare ?700 lying around the place to go buy me a brand new laptop, but my friend gave me a suggestion and I was wondering if it would work or if anyone here would be able to give some info on it...

My friend said that I could buy a graphics card which can slot into the wireless port or the PCMCIA? I think thats what it's called...

So yeah, am I able to buy a graphics card which can slot into this port and play such high resolution games as Microsoft Flight Simulator without any problems? Basically can I buy a graphics card which can slot into any of the ports in my laptop and be able to play games without having to save up for another ?700 to buy me a brand new laptop..?

Thank you for reading this and any information will be greatly appreciated.

    Kind regards,
    -Alex.

Don't worry, this is the right place, and yes, I remember you. :)

Unfortunately, external graphics cards do not exist, the bus is simply not fast enough. You can get monitor adapters and the like, but they don't process 3D games, etc. You're stuck with that Intel card. :(

yeah i think they should design a new interface for an external gpu, then we wouldnt have to compromise game performance with portability (if u play games at home). however i can see why some companys may be reluctant simply because it would potentialy change the desktop market.
