:hi2:
Well i just got finished playing the Crysis Pre-Release Demo and boy did is run like doo doo :/
im confused because i see people on youtube with 8500gt 's playing the game smoothly and i can play most wanted, call of duty 2 smoothly on my xps m1710 with core 2 duo t7200, 3gb pc2-6300 ram, g0 7900 gs perfeclty fine. Is it just the demo because i know my computer doesnt suck :/ i was getting low low fps on medium settings on the crysis pre-release demo @ 1280x1024 -___-
And i find it strange that a 8500gt can out perform my go 7900gs at 720p resolution![]()

Which Crysis? 1, 2 or 3?
Are you sure those people on YouTube were using mobile cards? It seems to me that they might have been using desktop 8500GT cards, and heavily overclocked, possibly paired with highly clocked quadcore CPUs. -
Crysis is a lot more demanding than ANY COD title, even if it is 5-6 years old at this point.

crysis pre release demo?????
thats news on me.
weve had alpha release and beta release but they are deactivated before game is released.
can we have a link as long as its not a crack as we dont want that crap on here. -
Doesn't matter. You won't be getting any of the Crysis games running well on his 7900GS and Core 2 Duo.... All the Crysis games are known to be CPU demanding, a mobile Core 2 Duo is likely an issue.
And even with the finished, polished release, a desktop GTX 8800 had difficulty running Crysis 1 properly. I don't see why anyone would expect his mobile 7900 to run it properly. -
It's the Crysis 1 demo. You can find it and download it on any gaming website. The young bloods may not know this but back in the day developers would actually release demos before a game went gold instead of this alpha/beta crap that they do now which is only available for a few days if they do it at all.
As far as the graphics card is concerned, 8500 GT or GO 7900 GS it doesn't matter. Both are going to struggle mightily running Crysis regardless of settings and resolution. -
i didnt know there was a crysis 1 demo out. as you say, gone are the days.
at the time my 8800gtx and 9800gt played it fine but as mentioned those above cards will struggle.
brilliant game for its time and still worth playing if youve never played it before. -
Those cards you mention aren't even in the same league as the 8500 GT and Go 7900 GS. And even they couldn't run Crysis at High with a consistent frame rate back in the day.

Then how is this possible ?
Crysis XPS M170, PentiumM 2.13GHz, 2GB Ram, Go 7800GTX @ 460/1300. - YouTube
This guy as a less powerfull system then me and is running the game pretty smooth and thats all i want
-
Well if Nvidia naming convention holds then Go 7800 GTX should be faster than Go 7900 GS, plus his GPU is overclocked. The next step up would probably have to be the Go 7900 GTX. All of these cards would be faster than the 8500 GT due to their 256-bit memory bus. I don't put much stock in YouTube videos, especially when they don't include the settings in the description. "Mainstream" doesn't tell me anything. Plus 1280x800 is obviously a lower resolution than 1280x1024. I really have no experience with these systems so I can't help you much but based on the graphics cards I have used over the years I would definitely say all of the above will struggle in Crysis at anything but low settings.
