I have a question regarding the online game I am playing. RF ONLINE....I used to play it on my desktop but now i dont have it with me anymore so I am using my notebook to play.

My graphics accelerator is just the intel 950 with 128 mb shared and I have 1.5gb RAM 667mhz..

Now Im not sure whether the lag is due to the connection i am currently using or my graphics card.

Im leaching WIFI from a computer shop nearby and the signal strenth is low sometimes very low coz im far away from the access point.

I dont wanna blame my graphics card just yet coz the graphics are rendered well...sometimes the game is smooth..

I know my connection is not stable. ;))

Is there anyway how to test this..not by changing connections..

Recently I am playin FIFA07 and it runs quite well at high resu and high detail.

What for lag are we talking about? Choppy graphics when running around or you run a bit, then get teleported back to where you were 5 seconds ago? If the former, it's your graphics, the latter, the connection.

Try to find it out by visiting the computer shop. Try the game there and see if it works better. If so, it's the connection. It probably is. Or try your connection near another wireless point.

Have you considered running something like 3DMark (not sure which year) to benchmark the processor? You might find some useful information that way. Also do you notice if the slow down happens when there is more action on the screen? I.e. more stuff is having to be rendered?

The Intel GMA 950 is not a gaming card, but it is capable of somethings (reference: GPU Guide). But the WiFi could also be a problem.

3dMark isn't going to tell you much...the GMA scores too low. But I don't know enough about the game to really say if the GMA can run it well.

Like Budding said, it could be either and he gave you a great method to try and see. Try finding another WiFi hotspot (Panera, some fast food joints, Starbucks) as well if needed.

I think Its my graphics card...huhu

I tried running fraps while playing online. its funny..coz in the menu part where you choose your character it reaches 60fps...then when my character is already logged on...it goes down to about 15-25fps...it sometimes resets back to zero...but it usually hangs around 18-23 even 25..I ran fraps on fifa 07 and it just stays at 30fps when playing..at times it goes to 28..the back to 30fps..

could someone tell me what this means...fifa 07 plays well...unlike the online game..

whats the normal fps for playing games..
