this is not a notebook but after I read some posts it seems like a very well knowing community so hear

I MAY be getting a new comp soon and am wondering if t can take this one game on warrock. Im really looking forward to playing it but I asked this one guy but he said itll lag like heck but my other specs seem fine

    specs

    512 ram
    IntelĀ® Graphics Media Accelerator 950
    pentium 4
    2.8 ghz
    windows 2000

maybe the real question is, is the Intel GMA 950 good for playing games such as half life 2 and counter strike source?

    thanks

No it's not unfortunately. You can play CS 1.6 and the original Half-Life fine but the GMA950 will not do it for you in the latest games.

WoW should run fine too, and Guild Wars.

You will basically have to get more RAM for that computer - 1GB at the minimum - if you want decent performance.

No offense but that doesn't seem like a 'new' computer at all. Unless it's free I wouldn't pay anything for it.

I have my doubts about the GMA950 being able to play CS 1.6, let alone CSS. The Half-Life 2 engine is brilliant in its scalability, but the GMA950 is just too weak.

Same applies to War Rock...it's not powerful enough.

It's going to lag like more than heck. The rest of your specs just barely pass the playable system requirements but the GMA 950 is really the bottom of the barrel. Try to find a computer with at least something more. I don't know your budget or your needs, so I can't really recommend anything.

The 950 will handel Cs1.6 well, no worries. Heck even the GMA900 runs Cs1.6.

Warrock works but there was a serious issue with integrated intel cards rendering the game very, very dark, making gameplay hard, so you'd want to check out if they ever got that sorted out...

CS 1.6 works fine on a GMA950, or at least should, as I've run it on an integrated one that I think is pre-GMA900...
