I have been getting this message atleast once a day, every day...sometimes twice a day when playing my Online MMORPG.

"NVIDIA graphics card has stopped responding and has recovered" <- Not quote for quote

The screen goes black, then the game closes and I get the error message in the form of a small yellow triangle in the bottom left "next to the clock".

I have a NVIDIA Geforce 8700M GT graphics card, with Windows Vista SP1 32-Bit.

I had this problem with the current NVIDIA drivers available at their website, so I went to laptopvideo2go.com, and downloaded this driver:

    http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/drivers/vista/177.83

These drivers where recommended by a friend of mine, he said it will get better performance out of my card, but I honestly don't see a change in performance, and this message comes up with this driver, and the newest one from NVIDIA.

How can I get rid of this problem? It is becoming EXTREMELY ANNOYING!

If you require my DxDiag, just ask for it, and I will post it, or if you need any other information.

Ah. I was getting that problem for a bit trying to start NWN2 up. I think it's just a driver problem. Curiously, I was able to work around it by pressing Ctrl-N after starting NWN2 and getting a black screen.

I have looked all over the web, and found ALOT of people saying they are encountering this problem aswell. Has anyone on this Forum found a way to fix it? Or atleast delay it so it does not happen every day?

try a different driver from laptopvideo2go. Last I checked the drivers on nvidia's site weren't meant for laptop users.

the latest drivers are not always the best ones. Did you change anything else or just the video driver?

Yeah I had this happen to me about every 30 minutes during the WAR preview weekend. It would crash and I'd get the triangle saying "The Graphics Driver has stopped responding and has recovered." I changed my driver and it stopped happening.

I changed the driver only. Was not sure what else I could do. I switched to the 174.16 driver, because someone else on these forums posted a reply in a similar question like mine, and he said it worked for him. In his signature, his graphics card was same as mine so...

    Fingers crossed!

Quite a few views, but not many replies. I am only re-posting to up-date my status, and maybe help solve it for people.

    Current Problem: None so far!

Will try and update this post often, if any changes of any problems occur, and if I need to switch drivers.

Also if you have any ideas on the problem, please post them, any and all ideas are helpful.
