    Hello,
    What I'm using:
    • Alienware M17 R2
    • rgb LCD screen
    • Windows 7 Ultimate (x64)
    • 2.00 gigahertz Intel Core i7 X 920
    • 8GB Corsair Memory
    • Radeon HD 5800
I'm pretty satisfied with the overall performance of the current graphics card, but I just started playing the COD WW2 and though it will play, it at times bottoms out with framerate performance. I have verified the most current drivers and BIOS updates, but still not really too smooth.

Looking at perhaps updating the Graphics card(s).
Without spending hundreds of $$, what can you recommend?
I read where the Radeon M290X is optimal but for $400-500 bux, too pricey!
I do have a 2nd open graphics card bay for a 2nd card... would this be a viable option?

    Tips, idea's and suggestions appreciated.

    ~Grey

The 5870m is outdated at this point and even in SLI it won’t make much of a difference. That would be a waste.

980m would be your best option and would really give that laptop new life and allow for smooth gameplay.

Another option would be to sell the laptop and grab a BGA laptop around $600 with a 7700hq and 1060 3/6gb and 16gb DDR4. It can be found used/refurbished.

    Thanks for the good advice...
I'm considering selling this M17 and upgrading.
I picked it up cheap enough last month for $300.00

Any thoughts about M4000m from Taobao?
I found some under 200$ and the card is same or better than 970m.

I agree, that would be a fantastic deal. The best deal I've seen myself for that price is an i5, 1050Ti Acer Nitro 5 from Best Buy, but even it is currently $650.
