    After I repasted yesterday (I was grounded), my gpu started after 1h of use to have some strange glitches in the screen (2 large vertical perforated green lines)

    What I thought it was that the 11.6 driver was acting up again, so I have hardbooted the pc.

    Now it wont get past the windows log on screen

    What I did was to try to boot it under linux, however the same graphical glitches, if not more appeared, thus I came to the conclusion that my gpu must be acting up

    So after that I have left it to rest, as we all know pcs are more temperamental than people, so I put some silica gel bags to absorb any moist from the alcohol.

    Today I have turned it on, still the same problem, das specs;

    MSI ex 625-227US

    CPU: P7250
    GPU: 4670m GDDR3 512mb
    MOBO: MSI 1674
    RAM: 4gb DDR2 800mhz

    So my guess is that the gpu has gone the way of the dodo

    Just to add in, in response to your PM, your graphics type is MXM II (gen 2) where as the 6770M is MXM-A (gen 3), so not compatible.

    You could look out for any other MXM II card, however the 4670 GDDR3 MXM II was very VERY rare, so unless you can call up MSI and buy one then you will have to go with something slower.

    yeah... the problem is the cost, to spend something more on a hinge broken laptop is a waste, not to mention the other chassis issues
