    Graphics intense screen savers

    Is it bad to leave graphics intense screen savers all the time? My screen is just like playing a game. It has the PCH running the max temperature that it goes to on my system 86C (Im not saying its maxed out just that is the max temp it reaches on my new computer).

    probably not a good idea to run your computer at that temp constantly.

    Screen savers are just kind of dumb IMO.

    The only purpose they ever had was to prevent burn-in on CRT screens, ever since LCD came out they lost there purpose.

    Now it just consumes energy when you could be saving it, and of course running your hardware when it could be resting.

    lol, I agree with you. The only reason I am using one is cause I am in Iraq and its nice to see creative screen savers and take my mind off of the sand.

    They lost their useful purpose long before that. CRT's just are not susceptible to burn-in like they once were, PLUS having the screen go to a low power sleep state is just way better anyway. They have been pointless for a long long time except as "entertainment" or "ambiance."

    I'd much rather have my monitor go to sleep than stay on displaying some random patterns or animations or whatnot. Saves a lot more energy that way.
