Hello, I'm not sure in which section to post this so I hope I got the right section. I recently bought Gateway 6860 with 8800GTS vid inside and I got to installin games. I ran into a little problem, while setting vid settings ingame I can have all settings to high except "Terrain" because it causes black spots on the map that shift while i move. Terrain has to stay on "Low" for me, I can have alll maxed out and terrain on low and then the game doesn't have that problem but looks really bad.I did WinXP install, changed the nvidia driver to the newest and I play BF2142, COD4, TF2, Exteel, CS, Perfect World without a problem. Here's a screenshot of what it looks like ingame:
P.S. Anyone knows how to change vid resolution to widescreen 1440x900 in BF2 ?

For the patches, try different drivers. For widescreen, do this-
Right click on the shortcut you use to run the game, go to properties, and in the "target" field, enter this:
    "C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\BF2.exe" +menu 1 +fullscreen 1 +szx 1440 +szy 900"

Replace whatever you need in that to get the correct path on your computer. Also, go into your BF2/Mods/bf2 settings folder, find your defaultvideo.con file, and open it with a text editor. Change the field of view setting from 1 to 1.1, and then save the file and make it read only. This should work, but you can't go into your video settings in the game menu because it will revert back to a non-widescreen resolution, so make sure you set everything on high, quit the game, and launch it again with your modified shortcut.

Also run WidescreenFixer while running at the resolution:
    http://imk.cx/pc/widescreenfixer/WidescreenFixer_v1.32.zip

You'll need to follow these steps to be able to run BF2 on widescreen until the new patch is released which should also include widescreen support.
