Hey all, i just went to my local gamestop to pick up a copy of unreal tournament 3. It went on sale for 19.99, which is pretty amazing considering steam selling the game for 29.99!
After talking to the salesperson, I find out that I also get a free copy of unreal anthology along with my purchase. And tihs includes:
Unreal
Unreal 2
Unreal Tournament Game of the year eidition
Unreal Tournament 2004
that line up + of course unreal tournament 3.
This is a freakin sweet deal man. Its like getting the orange box @ a lower price. So to all of you who want to brush up on a little first person shooters, and want to take a walk down gaming history lane, I suggest getting this deal. You really cant beat this value.

Is this at every gamestop? I'm looking to get a fast paced shooter along with my new gamepad & portable speakers.

Do they have Battletoads in stock too?

Looks like they're finally admitting that game is so bad they have to almost give it away to stir up sales. UT3 was an abomination.

Doesn't explain why UT3 was so successful lol...

UT3 was a far cry from being successful. -

UT3 is by no means a terrible game.
It's just not particularly good either, and the reason for that is because we've played it before. It's UT2004 with a new coat of paint, worse art direction, and half the content taken out. The core of the game isn't that bad and it's certainly nice to look at, but UT isn't really the type of game that benefits from eye candy - it's too fast-paced for you to stop and smell the roses.
This is a great deal and UT3 is fine at $20. But I felt like a sucker when I bought it at $50, brought it home, and realized it was the same game I'd already been playing for eight years.
Oh, and no, UT3 has not been very successful. Epic wanted to blame it on piracy, but then it showed up on consoles and no one gave a crap then either, and now they're all confused. The mod community for UT3 is pathetically small compared to UT2004, and it's my understanding the game hasn't sold well at all. Again, there's a reason for that: see above. -

I liked UT3, I played UT2004 to death.
UT3 was better graphics and great stages, cool for a machine like mine that can max it out and the engine was absolutely brilliant. Runs well even on low spec machines.
Problem for me was that I did prefer 2004 better, and I got UT3 at the same time I got Crysis and CoD4 and they happen to catch my interest more. Crysis had better graphics and CoD4 was better gameplay but CoD4 online is getting old fast so may go into UT3 for more of a variety. -
I think the core gameplay's been beaten to death in the unreal tournament series, it looks pretty, its fast paced, and its fun to play with alot of people, other than that theres not much else.
Compare to unreal tournament 2004, theres even less modders and that takes out the fun factor somewhat. -
UT set some good standards in online gaming, but it has aged so bad and has way too many good games to compete with. We're all simply bored of UT now.

I loved it but it just got to old to fast.
Great Deal on Unreal tournment 3 @Gamestop
