Well I just noticed this today randomly and thought I would share it as I have seen quite a few people from the Uk looking for a gaming laptop at a decent price, and we don't have a huge amount of variety here. http://www.comet.co.uk/shopcomet/product/580244/MICRO-STAR-INT.(MSI)-GT729-253BK
Great spec'd system and from Comet, who'd have thought it. Anyway to all those of you considering a purchase, this is worth a look. It's the model with 4850 1GB and Q9000 just for refrence.
    Cheers.

True, but in the Us they have Bestbuy and get some great deal's from them. Might be nice to see more retail's catering to the laptop gaming market and having the added effect of pushing down price's from existing retailer's in this country( i.e. Sager distributers or Alienware). One can only hope though. And from what I have seen in the Msi section it's a really good laptop with some excellent performance.

Got my HDX from comet over a year and half ago for the same price, sadly don't see the point in upgrading yet lol. Nice find though.

Cool, so it seem's Comet do on occasion stock something decent lol. Just never really took them for a retailer to have gaming laptop's. I have a renewed respect for Comet. Mind it's not much respect, just a little.

A better deal would be the Advent 7555 (rebadged MSI) from Dixons, PC World, Currys if they still have those in stock for £999.

Checked out that 7555, that is a good deal. Good to see a gaming laptop for under a grand.

i would still worry about the support though. no phone support but just return to the production line with all the broken washing machines and microvaves.

I think there is alway's going to be a case of "you get what you pay for". But as a product with those spec's that is good value! And from what I have heard Msi support is decent, not ever heard much about Advent but if it break's at least you can go into the shop and shout at someone. Lol.

Catacylsm mate what sort of 3dmark06 score you getting on that beast? And rough idea of game performance? Just think for anyone in the Uk looking for a gaming laptop on a budget(and there are a few of them) that is less than a G! And great spec's.
