I can't purchased online at GreenManGaming since my CC thinks GMG is fraudulent and have to ask them to be removed from the ban list or something.

I googled this issue and behold, it seems this issue is rampant. Anyone else run into this problem?

Why so sarcastic? I was excited to see Fear3 on sale for 7.83 since a friend won it from Valve during the Christmas event, I hear the co-op is fun.

This is a hassle and something I would think GMG would want fixed. I see from google this is not an uncommon problem.

I meant no sarcasm, I was serious. I thought they were a legit site, but they wouldn't be on a fraud list if they hadn't had problems. I find that fascinating, I wonder what the problem was.

    Sorry if I was offensive.

Have you tried contacting their support team?
I don't think their fraudulent seeing how some of the posters above have given positive ratings.

Yes, many international companies can be restricted or throw up a flag with credit card companies. Doesn't mean the company is fraudulent, only flagged by your CC.

Almost every time I buy something with my credit card on newegg it gets flagged as possible fraudulent charges.

We all know newegg is a big well known company... so it happens.

Its also why I always use paypal when I can.

As for GMG I have bought from them before, had to wait for a while to get my key because they ran out of them, but its a legit company. I thought it was grey market at first but later I come to hear they actually get there keys directly from publishers/developers.

I've purchased from them as well and they seem perfectly legit. PayPal is definitely the way to go!

I don't like starting another service, but GMG has such good deals... I'm debating using them AND steam.

In a thread about fraudulent services, it seems pretty funny to bring up Paypal of all things. You're much safer using a real bank in terms of consumer protection.

its something you have to get used to. its your bank or card company that is doing spot checks for fraud.
just for example i bought a bmw for £30,000
i then went to the petrol station which ive used for the past 20 years to fill it up with petrol and the card was blocked.
i had to phone my card company and answer questions to make sure i was who i said i was even though they could look back at their records and see ive got petrol their for years.

    Well good to know.

I've bought two games since then from GMG and been happy. I've registered both games on Steam and downloaded them through Steam. $10 for 2 AAA games. Not bad.

    Please expound on this.

And honestly, consumer protection is a buzzword marketing gimmick. The only true form of consumer protection is not being an idiot.

Googling various variations of "PayPal sucks" or "PayPal froze my account" gets you millions of hits. The Wikileaks debacle is a fairly recent event. Go nuts.

I'm not an American, so I couldn't say how you'd fare. I only know that my bank (and/or VISA) is required by law to do much, much more than PayPal has ever done for its customers. Using a credit card online in a normal way is close to risk free.

I can also actually get a hold of someone from my bank should I have any questions or issues, which I find to be a pretty big deal.
