    Hey guys,

Even though i have a crappy setup, i managed some tweaks to get my gta iv pc game to run smooth. It runs an average about 23 fps. To me that is smooth and i bearly notice any lag. BUT. there is one problem is that textures seem to popup. Does anyone know of a fix to get rid of that. Im pretty sure there is a fix for that.

Btw Im running gta iv in 800by600 resolution with all detail off. At first the game was unplayable, very laggy. With these settings. But I managed to tweak it and make it run smooth.

    Thank guys.

Basically, as i drive objects pop up, but i guess you can say they are delayed.

Perhaps that's just because your draw distance is set low? That's probably the main factor in your getting playable performance, however.

On patch 1.04 I had no texture pop-up issues, but I got them with 1.06 and 1.07 :(

I suggest the OP uses patch 1.0.04, that will give you much more performance assuming you aren't concerned with multiplayer.

I have the latest patch 1.0.0.7. How do I downgrade, and I really don't use multiplayer at all.

    Thanks

Im confused, whats the difference between the 1.0.4 patch and the 1.0.0.4 patch. Are they the same?

You can't really downgrade, the best way is to revoke your license, uninstall and then reinstall again. It may be the long way but it is the most reliable. Once you have done that you could always store a backup copy of your entire GTA IV directory and then test out the Realizm IV 6.2 Mod because this gave me a 10 fps boost on patch 1.0.04 and it did the same for a few others too.

    UPDATE:
Okay I successfully went back to patch 1.0.4. It works perfectly. Im currently downloading Realizm IV 6.2 and Ultimate textures 2.0. From what i heard that this gives some fps boost and looks so much better. Can anyone confirm that?

Close the thread mods, uninstalled the game, didnt feel like "tweaking" it more. But at least my point is proven i got this game to run pretty smooth on basically a low-end config.
Thanks guys for all your help you contributing to this thread.
