What do these suffixes mean when at the end of graphics cards?

They are indicative of the level of performance of the card (and differences in the cards, such as memory speed, number of shaders, etc.). These differences translate directly into how expensive the cards (and, indirectly, the laptops) are.
Check the link in my sig to see how the different cards compare.

Edit: I'm wrong haha, I'll change my post to not throw anyone off
(thanks cathy)
GS < GT < GTS (except 9800m GT > 9800m GTS)
However, the exact scaling can change. I think there are some GS with a lower memory bus than the GT/GTS variants which causes a large performance gap. However, usually I think the difference is in the core/shader clocks and memory type/clocks. -
Actually, it's GS < GT < GTS < GTX
The 9800M GTS & 98000 GT is the exception, where the GT > GTS. -
Current naming schemes for nVidia are..
G < GS < GT < GTS < GTX
But many things have to be factored in since nVidia keeps changing the names of their products to make them appear like new tech when in fact they aren't just to make more sales of the older chips. So you would have to know what the specifications are and compare them yourself since the GS/GT/GTS names and the 8 series, 9 series and GTX series nVidia cards can be deceiving by the names. -
Usually the difference between GS < GT (with exception to the 9800 series) is the core, memory, shaders clocks being lower on the GS version. The confusion here with the Geforce 9800M series is that the the GT is more powerful than the GTS which is usually the other way around and so in this case the Geforce 9800M GS is just a lower clocked Geforce 9800M GTS.

G < GS < GT < GTS < GTX
except for the 9-series, where 9800M-GT > 9800M-GTS. -
Does anyone have any idea how the GE performs as compared to the GS? Based on the alphabets I'm going to guess that GE < GS.
-
As far as I know there isn't a mobile 9800M GE card but going by the traditional rules (for the sake of a hyperthetical question) the GE would be the least powerful out of the two.
It should also be noted the despite the unusual switch between the GT and GTS' nametags there is only a fraction difference between the two. Most people don't consider the usual $200 upgrade between them as being anywhere near worthwile. -
Seen a couple of webpages talking about it.

You want a comparison between the 9300 GE and GS desktop cards? To be honest, I'm not too well acquainted with low-end desktop cards, but at a guess I'd stick to my suggestion above. Anyone else?

This will all hopefully be less confusing once the 8800 series gets its 3rd and hopefully final rebranding as sub-level GTX series cards.
Gts Vs Gs Vs Gt?
