I am downloading 3dmark 06 (freeware version) now. Everyone guess what my score will be and we'll see who wins!

My system specs are as follows:

    Macbook Pro
    15" screen 1440 X 900 native resolution
    2gb ram
    200 gb 7200 rpm HD
    8600m GT 512 gddr3
    2.6 ghz Pernyn processor

    OS:

Windows Vista Ultimate 64 bit version
    Running via bootcamp

    Video driver version:

    174.31 (64 bit version)

    Got it from this site:

    http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/

    OK!

Given those specs, what do you think my 3dmark 06 score will be. As I said earlier I am just downloading the freeware version and will not tweak a thing...I will just run it in the resolution that it makes me run it in. Also I am not overclocking my card...everything is stock.

    May the best guess win!

Wow if I get 5500-6k that would amaze me. The average score I have seen is around 3500...but maybe the new MBP refresh will help with that speed.

what notch do you want to be? nothes above 2 are priced exponentially.

probably a fair idea :p i better stop multiplying by infinity as well. can we take the limit as x approaches zero?

think about what? multiplying by infinity? which is the same as dividing by zero which i am sure you are well aware of. or by taking the limit as x->0 in any fraction with a constant as the numerator and where x is the denominator. as the latter is doing exactly the same as your tan x.

as i said. that is exactly the same as dividing by zero. you do realise that tan is opposite over adjacent. and that if that angle is 90*, you are making the adjacent side non existant (i.e a length of 0) meaning you are dividing a number by zero. exactly what i said.

I think we're on two different pages here. All I'm saying is that the limit of x for tan(x) as x approaches 90 does not exist.

Ask WEI (Windows Experience Index) for what your 3dmark score could be.

You could also ask WEI for lucky lotto numbers.

Well I like to game alot so gaming was very important in my laptop choice. But I also need Windows Vista for work...and Final Cut pro for video work...and I will also be using OS X for recording music. So it seems like I made the right choice considering all I want to do.

Best of all worlds IMO and it wasnt that much more than I spent on my last windows laptop.

The actual temps on a MBP aren't insanely high. About 80 when gaming, which is semi-normal... It just feels like it gets hotter because it's made of metal, which heats up much more than plastic :p
