Hi guys. This is probably a non issue, as I think I know what the problem is. But I'm going to ask anyway.

I finally got my new laptop last night, and everything is working great. I downloaded the newest NVIDIA drivers (306.97) and then started up GW2. For the graphics settings, I did "auto-detect", and it set most of the settings to low. I then did "Best Appearance", and the frame rate was 15.

I know for a fact that with the 680M, I can max out the settings with GW2. When I exited and went back to my desktop, I tried to go to the NVIDIA control panel, and it told me that I couldn't open it because there was no NVIDIA card on my computer.

I restarted the computer, and the NVIDIA control panel worked again. I didn't get a chance to try out GW2 again though.

So, I think my problem was that I didn't restart my computer after I downloaded the drivers, which is why GW2 said I didn't have a better card (I have a secondary Intel HD Graphics 4000 card too).

Is there anything else it could be, or am I right in my assumption? Because I'm really hoping I don't need to send this laptop back. Thanks.

in the nvidia control panel go to manage 3d settings and where it says "auto-detect" click to bring up a drop down menu and select "prefer maximum performance" This will tell you computer to prefer the nvidia card for applications.
