I have to say nothing but disappointment for me. This game better be perfect, and I mean perfect in every way imaginable because after waiting for 5+ years, another 54 more days of waiting.![]()
-
really? 54 more days is THAT big a deal? Did you expect them to be like "surprise, it's coming out tomorrow!"?
-
You may no have a problem with it because you already play the beta, but others are not that lucky. -

Anyone heard when the next beta date is? Should be sometime this month if it goes live end of next.

Edit: At least I have something to remember on my bday lol! GW2 launch -
I don't think this game was even announced 5 years ago. I've only been waiting about 2.5-3 years. And that's pretty much the expected time for a massive MMO. 5 years ago, were just rumors which got people excited as the rumor was it would be more traditional MMORPG style with more than 20 levels etc.
And if you hope it's perfect at release, you may be crying. There hasn't been a perfect launch for an MMO yet. But the good part is, you don't feel like you're balls are being ripped off because NO MONTHLY FEES! You're not paying monthly as the company continues to try and optimize the game and adjust to the server loads and other issues that beta testers were unable to find! -
that is an awesome news , finally we can get rid of all the garbage mmo they keep hurtling at us "wow , swtor , tera......."

Is there any possibility that Guild Wars 2 is being overhyped just like SWTOR was?
-
But the thing that sets this hype vs SWTOR hype is that with TOR, people who have been playing since day one and have been waiting for key MMO features or changes to be implemented into the game have been paying $15 a month.
It's very likely that GW2 will release with bugs, glitches, inbalances, etc. just like every other major release title. There will probably be key MMO and/or RPG elements missing on launch.
The difference is that , hey, if you don't like Guild Wars 2 on release or it's unstable with your current system/drivers/your cat chewed on your keyboard? Easy fix. Voice your opinion/concern on the forums, log out, and play something else. In a few weeks, even a few months later you can return to the game without having to resub to anything and worry if that $15 you're gonna throw down is worth it or not.
I'm waiting for TOR to have a free trial like World of Warcraft does so I can jump around in a Star Wars universe for a weekend or two. It seems like Bioware has been making significant changes to the game and people are either considering the resub or considering cancelling their subscription. When you have to put down money like that every month (even if it's an insignificant amount to some people), you feel a little constrained that you're making the right choice. Logging into a no-sub MMO with polished gameplay (aka Guild Wars 1) after taking a two year break feels awesome. All you have to worry about is that duration of a re-installation. -
I know i cant wait. All the other MMO's out right now r gettin old so i realy hope it brings something new to the table.

Im interested in this game. Im curious but to those who played it what was the most negative feature or something lacking in this game?

Loved what I have seen out of GW2 so far. One day it was severely laggy, then I was only running on one core, then when I got to a group of 100 players I slowed to a crawl then crashed, but even with all the flaws of the beta, I had a blast playing, and was upset when the time allotted was over.
I have the Secret world, but I am not getting into it like I should. the game play/combat is kind of lame. i was hoping it would be like their Conan game which I connected with much better. It's like i pull zombies, stand there and fight them. sure they are kiteable, and i can strafe, but they are always on my , and i struggle to get any distance so instead of pulling more mobs, it is just better to stand there and fight them. i would like to get into the game, as it sounds so intriguing, but ...
the problem i had in SWTOR is I was hoping for a more action orientated MMO. I wanted to circle strafe and blast away my instant spells and weapons. It is impossible as the game makes your character stop to animate with every instant cast. was very depressing. I could get over my guy looking like he had a stick up his bum, but when the controls suffer, i'm out of there. ( I hated ME too)
i also play DCUO. Love the combat. is great to fly and blast away at an enemy.I just never raided or did much of anything besides solo instances, but do have 3 toons in central city. I'm still burned out from years of WOW raiding to do much group activity besides bounties in the game. Probably because I did the beta to play solo away from my WOW friends... -
Heck, the reason I'm interested in Guild Wars 2 is because they showed a giant air-ship fighting a giant skeleton-dragon-thing in their launch date trailer thing-a-ma-jig.
I mean, where else would you get something as ridiculous as that... epic...
Guild Wars 2 launch date!
