So is there a big difference between the HD 3650 1gb and the 512mb?

I'm thinking of buying one of these two laptops and can't make up my mind.

The big difference is that Toshiba has a better CPU, more RAM, and more HDD. However, its 100 bucks more expansive than the Asus which has a 1gb vram vs the 512 on the Toshiba.

Yeah I hope you guys can help me out fast because I plan on buying one of these laptop by today.

go for Toshiba, 1GB is too much for HD 3650, 512MB are more than enough. plus the A305 got better cpu and bigger HDD.

Yeah that was what I was thinking... Does anyone know if one of the GPU is DDR3 or not? There really is no way of checking in Newegg's I think...

The second is overall going to be a faster computer, though not spectacularly so. The added video memory on the 3650 in the ASUS isn't going to matter - I doubt it can even use 512MB effectively.

But you're missing an important factor - the ASUS is a 14" machine while the Toshiba is a 15.4" one. Portability is going to be better with the ASUS, though it will run hotter as well.

If you fill out the FAQ in the "what to buy" section we could help you better - you've come across some very good deals, but knowing exactly what you want could help us match you with a better computer; you never know.

Also what about warranty? Should I buy more?

Plus can I upgrade the laptop later with a better GPU? Like maybe 2 years later I get a 8800m GTX or something?

Oh yeah I noticed that the Toshiba is a 45nm GPU while the Asus is a 65nm. Does that really make a big difference? I mean I was checking both of the cards energy consumption but they seem to be the same. Is the reason becuase the 8100 is overall faster than the 5750 on the Asus?

Or am I actually going to see less heating on the Toshiba vs Asus?

it is totally up to you.
    no you can't

first, it's "CPU". T8100 does runs much cooler than T5750, plus it got 50% more L2 cache.

hard to say since they were constructed differently, unless you can find some reviews of both.

Well the Asus comes with 2 years of warranty, and 1 year of accidental warranty.
