So since you cant find any info on this is decided to do it my self. Long story shot yes the HD 7660g will allow you to play the game. 5's 10's 25 mans and even 40 man world bosses. All this can be done with no lag.

Test system is a HP Envy M6 running a stock Windows 8 Image

    A10 4600m
    HD 7660g
    8 gigs of DDR3 1600*
    750gig Samsung Spinpoint
    Braudcom b/g/n wifi with bluetooth*

    * were parts switched out. Ram the stock 2gig stick was switched with a 4gig and the stock wifi was replaced for one with bluetooth.

    Drivers 13.1

No shocker that overclocking, tweaking timings and settings pscheck to 2.7ghz helped a little. But is it enough?

End of the day we average about 6 more fps. Sitting in Org. i seen as high at 10-15fps gain that the benchmarks do not show. Also during raids is where the overclocking and stuff really shines something that the benchmarks wont show. Without it i was lagging and after i was able to play very smooth. Flying in org i usually stay in the upper 30-'s lower 40's with the lowest i seen was 27fps for a split second.

The benchmark settings are my every day settings for game play and 5-10 mans. Dropping the preset to Good. Lowering shadows to low, disable SSAO, Projected textures i was able to run 25m's with now lag with the exception of some lag spikes with heavy AOE nothing maybe just drops to about 25fps for a second or two a few times. No doubt you can smooth this out.

Can you get more out of the A10? Yeah, I will be checking out some drivers but i think we could see some improvement with other drivers so it will take some time before i can post back some numbers of diff. drivers. Also a fresh install of Windows 8 without all the bloadware will no doubt help gain a little more. I still have all the default software running so i know i'm losing a few frames from that.

Also note during a few hours of raiding the gpu temps never went over 67c even at 1300mhz.

I will post back and update when i test out other drivers and test a fresh non bloated Windows 8 Install. Also i will post back on anything i do and what gains i get. Soon i will be testing out some DDR3 1866 in the system.

Vid up. Running 1280X768 sorry it looks like crap it was the viewing angle of the cam i'll make a better one with my plasma. But as you can see it runs pretty smooth.

Not bad. I can't wait for AMD to conquer the gamer world through good apu's.

I can't get any realized FPS improvements from an overclock.

I've tried AMD Overdrive and MSI Afterburner. It shows the resultant speed increase, but FPS doesn't change at all.

edit: I just tried Far Cry 3 and it works great at 720p with low detail, min 30fps, avg about 34fps. I'm sure I could bump up some graphics options a bit, just haven't taken the time.

Those minimum FPS rates are a bit worrying - does it drop down like that enough to be problematic? Also, does the m6 have two RAM slots? If so, you should definitely be running two sticks for dual-channel, even if it's 4GB and 2GB for asynchronous dual-channel you'll see notable gains.

It running 8 gigs in dual channel. And as for the min fps when i watch the benchmark honestly i cant see it drop lower then 25 and even at that it was for a split second. So im guess that's just something with wow i mean it is wow and if the game had no problems i guess i would be playing another game lol.

But with the bench settings i listed the lowest i seen in org flying around was the mid 20's for a split second then back to the mid to upper 30's but i just ran the same time test and same settings and i never seen the fps dip below 28fps so i really dont know where wow was getting those min's from because i never seen it.

In Far Cry 3 i get the fallowing at 720

low 25. average is in the low to mid 30's at the med. preset stock clocks.

For low i got a average of about 41fps where i was at stock clocks. Overclocked i got 44fps

For med i got a average of about 29fps where i was at stock clocks about 32fps overclocked.

I haven't messed with the settings but i get smooth gameplay with custom and these settings at 720 with the HD 7660g overclocked.

    Textures. High
    Ambient Lighting. Med.
    Shadows. Low
    Post FX. Low
    Geo. Low
    Veg. High
    Ter. High
    Water. Med
    Envro. Med.

I wish there were an actual benchmark for Far Cry 3. Hard to judge by 2-3 FPS difference unless it's a consistent repeatable test. I'll try to OC and see what I get though.

Edit: Just gave it a go, running 1000MHz made a marked improvement in performance. Hmm, interesting. I'll have to try to optimize that. Too bad I can't fix CPU at 3.2GHz then it'd really be able to shine. Although 3DMark scores don't budge when I OC the GPU. Kinda strange.

Overclocking it it felt more like a 5fps bump with the overclock. Overall it just felt smoother and overclocked i was able to run the custom settings really smooth with no lag at all. Mid to upper 30's some times lower 40's with some highs in the 60's so it did better then i thought it would with Far Cry 3.

Yea, I'm quite impressed. The only thing that will impress me is if I can get 64 man BF3 multiplayer to work at 720p > 30fps
