    Your graphics card doesn't support HD, unfornately. To play HD-DVD's you will need a HD-DVD drive, and they are quite expensive. As more and more notebooks are sold with these drives, prices will come down, but it is going to take a while.

    Yes, all you need for a notebook to be able to playback true HD playback is:
    - a blu-ray or HD-DVD drive
    - recommended dedicated videocard

    Your videocard is good to go for the true HD playback.

    o yea, i forgot to add that content downloaded into your system is already good to go. I was just covering the HD playback from the new generation discs (Blu-Ray and HD-DVD). :)

    So my X1600 NC8430 can play HD?!

    Where can I download HD trailers/free films (legit of course) so I can marvel at this technology I didn't care about anyway? :)D )
