Looking at nVidia's PureVideo Product Comparison chart on their PureVideo HD page, it shows that the 8600M GS is missing the following features (which are found on the GT and even the 7600):

    High-Definition Content:

    MPEG-2 Spatial-Temporal De-Interlacing
    MPEG-2 Inverse Telecine

    Standard-Definition Content:

    Noise Reduction
    Edge Enhancement

Is this really true, or is this chart out of date? I have seen other descriptions and reviews that don't mention any difference in the 8600M GS HD video processing features.

Do the newer drivers enable these features on the 8600M GS? For those of you that own an 8600M GS with PureVideo, do you see the above options (such as Spatial-Temporal De-Interlacing or Noise Reduction) and can you enable them?

If these features are not built into the 8600M GS, is it possible that they are still usable, but offloaded to the CPU rather than accelerated by the GPU?

One of my main uses for the 8600M GS will be HD playback up to 1080p and I will reconsider my purchase if there are any chance of playback issues or missing HD features.

    Thanks for your help.

Well, to simplify the question, if you have used the 8600M GS with DVI or HDMI out to an HDTV or projector, can you let me know if you've had any issues with 1080i or 1080p playback with any codecs?
