Hi
I have C disk, D disk and E disk. Then i download games from steam it always install on the C disk, and the problem is that the C disk is full.
Could i change some setting in steam to make sure games installs to other disks other than C disk?
Thanks in advance

Easiest way is to create a new folder called Steam on your drive you want to install to, copy the steamapps folder under your existing Steam folder under the new steam folder, then reinstall steam and during install point it to the new steam folder.
Or follow the directions at Steam forums:

Many thanks for your time

I think its to much hassle only to change disk....afterall we are in 2011, seems steam could improve abit.
Then you install a game from CD\DVD you always have a choice what disk to use...why not steam? -
I installed it onto the secondary data drive.

you could use symlinks to point to another drive.. its what my friend does and works ok for him
-
Yeah symlinks work too.
But I'll just say it's a pain the butt too because every time you install a game you have to move the folder then create the symlink.
I also agree Steam is a little behind the times with its installers and overall UI. Not to mention the backup function.
I have a 1TB drive dedicated to my Steam games, and have every single game I own downloaded on my desktop. I dunno, just paranoid I guess. But as I approach 700GB of games, I'd hate to have to buy a new larger hard drive and move everything to that just because I can't install to a different user specified directory.
Also, Valve should make the backup so you can backup on a schedule, autobackup when a game has been updated, etc. I ended up just copying the entire steamapps folder to an external hdd and use a sync program to keep it updated. -
And yes, that's my last remaing gripe with Steam...and maybe there are good reasons for it (auto-updating?)...but I would like control of where my Steam games are installed...don't have room on the C: drive for all my Steam games, but some games need to be playable without plugging in the external drive (quick-in, quick-out games like Alien Breed and Pirates!)
