Hi i am just wondering what the screen on the Toshiba Satellite P100 can support?? It is marked as a HD screen but what does it actually support?? 720p? ?
The laptop comes with a WXGA and a WSXGA screen but both are marked with
the "HD to go" logo.. I wouldnt have thought the Toshiba screens to be any better than the other brands..sony,hp,acer etc.. Is it just that Toshiba put that sticker on their high end laptpos even though they have the extact same screens as the competitors??

I am writing it in this section as i am also wondering whether it is just because it has a high end gpu that it can support HD? As i have seen in my shop two Toshiba "A100's" identical to each other in every way and fitted with the same screen,,but one having the "HD to go" logo! And the one WITH the HD to go logo is the one with an X1400 gpu while the one WITHOUT has only the Intel GMA 950..

You'd need component, dvi in (out?) or hdmi inputs for hd.

Does it have any of those?

WTF? It has built in harman Kardon speakers???!!!

If you don't get it I will :p

Just kidding, but a laptop that has built in harman Kardon speakers? Stay with that laptop man, you have better speakers then any pc speakers out there...

Those speakers are probably better then my bookshelf speakers.

Harman Kardon speakers may literally justify the price.

Yeah, your laptop has dvi, you'll be able to connect a dvi to component cable or dvi to hdmi cable and connect it to a dvd player and play hd-dvd or blue ray.

    And you'll have excellent sound.

    I envy you.

Eh, wait a minute, I just noticed that harman kardon makes cheap pc speakers... I may have spoke too soon...

Either way though, they are excellent from built in speakers.

Yeah, I think I spoke too soon, first you really can't shrink down speakers that small, secondly, they make $60 computer speakers.

It's not like my $300 (originally, now $150) bookshelf speakers, but it would beat a x-230, and nearly beat a Z-2300 or a itrigue l3800.

Hold on i already own the laptop (for over three months!) ;) .. But i have never even bothered with even looking into info about the screens capabilities regarding the "HD to go". And the laptops have DVI,HDMI "OUTPUTS" which means you cant plug a HD source into them, only play video out. And you dont need a proper video source like a HD DVD Drive in the laptop to watch HD video as you can just play ripped/stored HD Video.

What i am asking is what is the screens HD capability ie. 720p..1080i.???
