Ok, ok, I know I have been posting a lot but this maybe the last time I will ever post depending on the answers I get. And maybe the last time I will post since I have to make a final decision in getting the laptop.

I am using this laptop for architecture and the laptop that I will be choosing
    between is this

    Gateway M-6862
    http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage...-6862&lp=1&type=product&cp=1&id=1213399955100

    or

    Lenovo T61
    http://shoplenovo.i2.com/SEUILibrar...-category-id=2432D88590C944B79D33FDA517A5C756

Based on these specifications, and EXPERIENCE, which would be ideal for my use? Don't worry about the ram being too low for T61, I can always buy more for cheaper.

I just want GPU GURUS/EXPERTS to tell me which is better, the ATI HD2600 512mb DDR3 or the Quadro NVS 140m 128mb for architecture use such as: autocad, Illustrator, photoshop, Rhino 4.0 (3D Render), Maxwell, V-ray

Need to know ASAP! Must buy today, leaving home this week!!! I will rep for good info/opinions/suggestions

Well you can install modded drivers for the HD2600 to turn it into a V5600 which is far faster than the NVS140m. I am not 100% is it will work on the gateway but many 8510p users have done it. But certainly for programs such as autocad, it can run in dx mode so the HD2600 will be faster for that anyway.

    went to bestbuy

they were selling it for 524.99 for the gateway. I asked is this an open box/returned item since they have one left.

they said no, but they said it was "optimized" by the geek squad for better performance. Since it was the last one and all, I had to see it for myself. since there is no physical model, they opened the box and on the bottom of the laptop there was a scuff mark. THen i said bullSh!t and I left.

    of course there is!
but if there were other stores around me that had it, I wouldn't have posted this. All 5 stores around me didn't have a single one except that one.
