I installed Simcity 4 Deluxe Edition on my laptop (HP 8510p/T7300/3GB ram/XP/HD2600) and it's so friggin slow. I don't even have the resolution that high, its set to 1280x1024 but whenever I scroll across the screen or build something, it just lags.

I can play CoD4 fine, and on my old computer with a 6600GT, I could still play Simcity 4 fine. The way it is now, its unplayable.

Is this a driver problem, or does the HD2600 just suck?

    It's a driver problem (shocking isn't it!)

The HD2600 is a good card (look at my review)

Go on HP's site and download them or go to ati's website and follow Chaz's sticky to installing them.

SimCity 4 runs on integrated graphics like a charm so it shouldn't have a problem at all. It must be your drivers.

Same here, I could never get SC4 to run properly on my ATI X1600 256mb, it's caused by a driver problem that ATI decided not to fix.

Try software rendering instead of hardware rendering, its still going to be kinda slow though.

P.S. SC4 ran fine on an old ATI 9600 256mb.
