Please merge this thread with this one since it's probably the right spot for it.

In Vista, whenever i hook up my notebook with my lcd through hdmi to watch hi-def movies, i always get video and audio on the lcd.

Ever since i installed windows 7, i only get video but no audio on my lcd. on checking the realtek hdmi audio settings, i see hdcp: not supported. Is this a general problem or is it just my notebook.

It might be that Windows 7 doesn't have the necessary software ATM to resolve HDCP issue.

skipp3r, try right-clicking the HDMI Audio Device, and settingit as default when watching a movie or something on the LCD.
This is what I used to have to do, but Nvidia's driver allowed me to switch automatically.

skipp3r in that picture you posted, your default speakers are selected, not the HDMI one at the bottom, click that and click "set default" then it will play through your TV.

i dont even get that option which is serverly pissing me off. no driver iv tried works, apart from an old one 169.04!!!

Have you clicked the bottom "RealTek HDMI Output" one when its plugged into your TV, and clicked "Set Default" ??

The sound will work through your TV then in theory.....
