I just reformatted my computer and am trying to output through HDMI to a Sony TV. However, even though it look fine through VGA, the picture through HDMI is squished. Instead of filling the entire screen, it compress the 1080*1920 resolution into an area in the center and leave the rest black. I tried using the latest drivers from LV2G, Nividia, and Windows Update and all but he LV2G one had this problem. However, with the LV2G, I can't watch videos at there is a shutter it. Is there a way I could remedy this? Thanks

Do a search for my username and hdmi. Ive posted a fix that may work for this several times.

Why were you using LV2G drivers on a desktop?

Aslong as you dont use the modded .inf, it will be the same as a desktop driver. So you dont have the nvidia control panel at all?
all you need to do is go to the Nvidia control panel and fix up the resolutions and scaling. -
I have access to the Nvidia Control panel, just don't see anything in there that might help.

Weird, did you use the modded .inf? It should have a special options menu for HDTV when you plug it in. Also you should be able to set the nvidia scaling beforehand

Just to make sure there is no misunderstanding:
Stocked drivers = squished, but smooth video
LV2G drivers = full, but choppy video
the shutter with the LV2G only occurs in media players (Media center, WMP, MPC) in FULL SCREEN. Everything is fine with the LV2G driver in windowed mode -
Oh i see. Have you tried other drivers from lv2go.com other than the latest one? Different drivers produce different results. Some drivers give better performance, some give less and some are just fixes.
I was successful with 169.09 on my laptop but if that doesnt work try maybe 167.xx drivers or lower
Other than this.. im clueless.. just give a few other drivers a try first anyway..
good luck -
well, I tried 4 different ones, but none of them have resolved the problem. Something interesting I've noticed that is if I set the affinity of Media Center to 1 or 2 cores, then the problem largely goes away. However, this only works for some files
