I just bought a display that has both HDMI and Display port inputs. I was wondering if anyone has noticed any differences in gaming between these two? I know DP is the newer input, but does that mean its better for gaming?

    Thanks for any help

If you're just talking about a non-HDCP, video-only signal it should be the exact same thing. You haven't provided many details about your setup or what specific ports you have, but unless you're doing something special it shouldn't make any difference whatsoever.

Use whatever cheap cable you have or prefer.

Monitors up to 1920x1080, either connector is fine. 2560x1440 or 2560x1600 on 27" and 30" monitors, HDMI is useless.
