Recently I've been having BSoD errors with my laptop while playing CS Source and Rainbow Six Vegas. The blue screen says the device driver got stuck in an infinite loop. It lists ati2dvag. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling my drivers (using Omega drivers right now, but also had issues on ATi drivers). I swear it's something related to my sound. In CS it crashes when people are talking on the mic (ESPECIALLY in cs_office). In Vegas, my guns don't have any sound and crash a few minutes later. Help please?

Take a look at the event viewer, look at system and application tabs. This should help you narrow it down, make sure to right click the event and choose properties look at the description might tell just what was/is causing the problem.

Event viewer? Can you elaborate please? How do I get there?
-
sry for the off the topic but it is interesting to see someone playing warrock. i thought they didn;t have english version. only korean. is it fun?
-
I don't play it much any more. Quite laggy and lots of immature kids. I play for my clan now and then (B4M: Beg 4 Mercy). EU/USA version for free at warrock.net
Oh did I mention it blue screens on that too?
I've read somewhere that this problem is affecting a lot of people with ATi cards. They mentioned finding the CPU to AGP controller in the device manager adn installing the PCI to PCI bridge. Problem is, the X1600 is PCI-E x16. -
Please help me? I'm getting it VERY often now...

I've never seen this before (I've mostly used NVidia cards for my gaming) although according to Google, it seems fairly common, so do anyone know exactly what this file is?
Is it just the general ATI graphics driver? Is it related to 2d graphics only?
(Or is it something else entirely, like a chipset driver or something?)
Anyway, the obvious suggestion would be to try an older/newer driver.
Maybe the one from, say, 3 months ago, works better.
Also, you can try (temporarily) underclocking (but not undervolting) your GPU, to see if that helps. (If it does, your card seems to be defective - it can't handle running at stock speed. Or maybe it just overheats)
If you think it might be related to sound, try disabling all sound in the game, and see if that makes a difference. Or update sound driver.
(In fact, update all the drivers you can find, as well as bios.) -
It's mainly in cs_office on Counter Strike: Source for some reason, but happened in ALL of my games. It'd freeze with looping sound, I'd try to Ctrl Alt Del and I get the big ol blue. My sound drivers are up to date.
This was a fix that I often found...

Right click-mouse over My Computer
Properties
Hardware(Tab)
Device Manager(button)
Click [+] next to System devices
right-mouse on CPU to AGP Controller (or whatever your controller is called, mine was SiS AGP)
Update Driver(button)
Select Install from a list or specific location (Advanced)
Next(button)
Select Don't search. I will choose the driver to install.
Next(button)
Select PCI standard PCI-to-PCI bridge
Next(button)
Finish(button)
Reboot.
Problem is I have PCI-E x16, not AGP. -
And what happens if you revert to an older graphics driver? -
Hmm, I thought my BIOS was up to date since I sent it to HP a bit over a month ago (to fix this unfixed issue), but I guess not. Newest one updates the Video BIOS and fixes display issues. Thanks for the tip, I'm trying it right now.
*still not working* tried uninstalling using driver cleaner and reinstalling omega drivers.
