hi, i have a really urgent question for u pros. i have a acer 5500z with a pentium M processor @ 1.7GHz with 479m socket or something according to cpu z. now, i check my mum's toshiba u305, which has a pentium dual core T2080, and it has the same socket. my question is, is it possible i switch my single core pentium m for something like the T2080 in the toshiba? my pentium m is really starting to choke for me so i wanna move up a notch without buying a whole new system.

if it's possible, can any of u recommend what other cpus i can put into that socket?

thanks for any replies. it would be greatly appreciated.

No. Pentium DCs use Socket M which is incompatible with Socket 479. You can only upgrade to another PM, which maxes around 2.2 GHz, which quite frankly, would be a waste of money.
