I have tried a bit of HL2 on my new IBM z60m (x600 128mb card), and after maybe 10-15m of playing, the games "bluescreens". Its not like a core dump with windows stuff on it saying something errored out, but a solid blue screen. alt-ctrl-del doesn't do anything.
Up until the actual moment of bluescreening, everything is working perfectly.![]()

So you get the "blue screen of death"? I had the same problem when trying to play DOD Source. I went to Nvidias site and I updated all of the drivers, and the drivers had bug fixes for many of the games that I have been playing. I would strongly suggest visiting ATI's site and make sure there isn't any driver updates. And if that doesn't fix it, it could be something to do with it overheating, or the power supply.

@dietcokefiend:
İ was searching for an İBM notebook with a Ati-graphic card 128mb. Found it nowhere.
Where have you bought it and how much have u paid? -

It is the z60m 2529gbu (customer config).
Also, to quote a reponse I made about this problem on abother board:
Well, I think I may have slightly solved the bluescreening part. Turns out Notebook Hardware Control locks the bios fan control in some manner, and the thing gets stuck on low fan speed. As a result, guess what happens when playing games
Hopefully no damaged occured. I think that was the 2nd time I got that bluescreen thing. Now I am not using the NHC thing anymore, and sticking to just the IBM software, and this little IBM fan control app. -
I read that post and did the sharp, sucking intake of breath like you do when you whack your knee of something. Ouch. That sounds way rough. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you and your laptop. As fragile as those components can be, they do tend to be amazingly resilient in a situation like that. -

Well, the cpu and GPU seemed to be locked together heatwise at higher temps since they are both on the same heatsink. The CPU never went over 70-75C. I had the notebook hardware control program set to warn at 70C, and shutdown at 75C, so I am wondering if the cpu warning or shutdown thing from NHC crashed the machine.
Right now with it setup working properly, cpu/gpu temps never go over 60C even in games. And you can also hear the fan throttling again, not fixed :-D
