    I know this has been a big question that is always asked:
    " the minimum spec would be a 1.2GHz powered PC with 256MB RAM, Win 98/ME/2000/XP and a DirectX 7 compatible graphics card.

    But for those who want to see the game running in all its glory, be prepared to spec up to around a 2.4 GHz machine, with 512MB RAM, Windows 2000/XP and a DirectX 9 capable graphics card."

    Hmm..interesting, I wonder how it'll run on my P-M 1.5 with 64mb mobility Radeon 9700.

    Far Cry runs a little slow when I bump up the graphics quality.

    my guess is it will due pretty well, its directx 9, and the PM1.5 is about the same for a lot of things to performance as a 2.4 or better.

    Hmmm... I hope both of these can be run in window mode, that's how I played FarCry - 1024x768 with almost everything set to max. Does anyone know if they'll have a Full Screen toggle? My desktop is getting old for this sh*t:

    AMD Athlon XP 2600+
    512MB DDR SDRAM
    GeForce FX 5600 Ultra v.1 128MB O/C to 327/727
    Win XP Pro
    80GB 7200RPM HD

    Do you think adding another 512 stick would help?

    I run farcry 1024x768 medium quality, doom3 1024x768 medium quality, unreal 2004 1024x768 normal/medium quality. The framerate is real smooth at normal settings o/c 391/297mem. When its upgraded to a 1gig ram it should run better. (Default speed 337/243mem) Aquamark 351/283 22,349(quality default settings)Gpu around 85c underload checked with i8kfangui. Aquamark at 391/297 gpu 90c+ 24,478 no artifacts. I bought this with gaming in mind and should've spent $250 more for the 9100 w/9800.

    Did you do the heat pad mod to your i8600? Mine is stable when overclocked to 400 & 256, but the temp is 105C. I need to do the mod, but I have been too lazy.

    what would you consider the best: a 9700 with 64mbvram or a 9600 with 128mb, they are the most common graphics card in the range of price i'm looking for. and i cannot make my mind (and benchmarks sites most of the time doesn't list the ram of the VC they are testing.

    I'm running 1024x768 with all settings high. It performs very smoothly until heat kicks in and it stutters like no other.

    * Inspiron 8600c * 1.8ghz Pentium M * 128 MB Radeon 9600 Pro Turbo * 2x512 MB DDR2700 SDRAM * 60GB 7200RPM HDD *
