How much RAM do these games use? All other things constant, would 1GB be much different than 516MB?

    Thank you.

their would diffinately be a difference but not sure if it would be a huge one[ :)]

    ** Dell Inspiron 9300 ... Centrino 2 ghz ... 1 Gig Ram ... 256 Nvidia Geforce 6800 Go ... 100 Gig Hardrive ... 17 inch WUXGA screen with Truelife ... 8 x Dual DVD Burner ... Wifi **

Probably 512 mb would work, but 1 gb would make it possible to have it run on the best resolution and stuff. However, if you have a really good graphics card, 512 will probably do fine.

on another note, what's the minimum "video card" that can play CS:S? I ask on dv1000forums.com, and they told me that CS:S didn't run well, and I think HL2 isn't supported by intel's integrated chip.

Only game i play is counter-strike on this P3 733. I'd want to get a laptop that thin & light, but can also play CS:S (and within my budget)

If Half Life 2 was not supported by Intel shared memory my little T250 would not have been able to play the demo at full screen 1280x768 resolution as smooth as butter. Only on the second part of the demo does it stutter, especially at the fire scene. I have to lower resolution then. Just check out the demo yourself at:
