i was wondering if the geforce go 7200/7300 can play HL2 on medium settings with ~60fps?? i personally think that fps lower than that on a first-person shooter is a bit choppy to play on![]()

On medium/low settings & a modest resolution, a 7300 shouldn't have much of a problem maintaining that frame-rate in HL2. Obviously there will be certain areas of the game where it will dip below 60.

You could always force DirectX 7 mode and play at whatever settings you want. However, DX7 doesn't support pixel shaders, so you'll loose some eye candy (reflections/refractions).

sweet! thankyou very much for your guys' input...i'm actually waiting for the hp dv6000z w/ go7200...but I didn't find this helpful website until after I purchased
luckily for me, HP support is quite good (on the purchasing side) and if I am unsatisfied with its performance and battery life, I can return it and lean more towards the compal hel80...omg, this site rocks
