    Okey so this is my first 3d mark 06 run without any modifications to the default drivers or the graphics no overcloking nothing. right out of the box 3d mark 06 run with all the usual programs running on vista. dont have time for the whole test and driver update but will do it in 2h or so when i come back. P.S. any advice on where and what drivers to download would be greately appriciated.

    Yeah you are not getting a real evalution of your card if you run it at a lower res than what other people run 3DMark06.

    Run it at the native res, and then you will see how your card performs compared to others.

    So happy to find someone with this machine. I myself have nw9440 and am very curious to find out the difference in grafik benchmarks. Since nw9440 has a 1500M (256 bus) I wonder how it compares to 1600M (128 bus). I only have 3dmark05 and run some tests on my machine. This are the results:

    1024x768 = 7242
    1280x1024 = 6216
    1600x1200 = 5339

    Can you run the same tests to compare. I imagine 8710w will be better in lower res and worse in higher res due to 128 bus.

    I quess this rests the 7900gs vs. 8700gt dilema. I've seen many disscusions about nvidia's benchmark where the two are compared. But it seems Nvidia was right. This also brings me to wonder what does dual-rate 128 mean? On a res high as 1600x1200 the advantage should be on the side of a 256 bus no matter what the rest of the components are (since the bottleneck in this case is GPU) but it seems this is not the case.

    The 7950gtx could still be the fastest though (strangely I haven't found any benchmarks that compare these two in a wide range of resolutions).

    Do you know if the built-in card reader can read SDHC cards?

    So the Quadro FX 1600M is pretty good, right?

    What would you need to tweak and such to get a workstation card to run games well?

    i think this are the 256mb versions since mine does 4.7k with default settings and drivers.

    well the card works perfectly with current 163.67 laptopvideo2go drivers scoring almoust 5000 3d marks now since i made some adjustments to the notebook ( software ones ) and as said 1000 times before its the basically the 8700GT with maybe a 100 marks loss. playing bioshock full details 1280x1024 with perfection i dont feel the slightest hmmm how do you say it.... glitching ? i mean the game isnt running hard and the mouse not seeming that its hard to move. Went with transformers the game aswell did that in 1400x1xxx something cant remember now it went great aswell. Did the Overlord 1280x1024 full details 400-500 spawns imps (with trainer ofcourse) call them what you like behind me not a single glitch or a fps fall under 38fps. I cannot express my happines especially with this model since it has a really nice setup just breathing with quality.

    P.S. dont want to sound stupid for giving all the credits to my lappy i realise there are zilion notebook better then this one but its just how it fells to me since i had the p100-10p aswell and the nx9420 and b4 thouse the asus ferrari edition. I must say this lappy really owns aswellas the nx9420. I cant explain it, simply feels good working on it.

    Yes, but can it read SDHC cards (up to 8gb capacity for the moment)?
    Regular SD cards only go up to 2gb capacity.
