    Single-core Atom/ION/DDR3 vs. Dual-core Atom/ION/DDR2 vs. C2D ULV/4500MHD/DDR2...

    I'm torn...

I had started another thread last week concerning "light" gaming on the 4500MHD:

    Diablo II
    StarCraft
    WarCraft III
    Titan's Quest
    TorchLight
Knights of the Old Replublic (I and II)
ScummVM (Sam & Max, Day of the Tentacle, The Dig, etc.)

I have no intention of running Crysis, CoD4, Mass Effect, Dragon Age, or any thing new-ish for that matter. I have a desktop for that...

    Price-wise, the Mini 311 is $500CDN, the 1201n is $540CDN, and the 1810t is $650CDN.

I'm really not sure which route to go; it's almost CPU vs. CPU as much as GPU vs. GPU!

I personally have never tried to game on a 4500mhd but I know Titan's Quest would probably be too much for it after playing it on a go7600. I also would not go with a single-core atom either so that leaves the dual core atom and the ion. These are my opinions and based on what I have inferred from reading various reviews over the past year or so.

Personally I would look one of the netbooks with the dual core neo processor and the hd3200 (saw someone, maybe "htwingnut" had a review of a neo/hd3200 toshiba laptop in their signature) or one of the asus models with the culv and 210m.

Edit: here is the review (much respect Htwingnut), its 11.6 and should handle all those games better than any of the ones you are looking at except for maybe the dual core atom/ion and looks to cost around $500

I know you say you have no interest in CoD4, but if it's any indication of performance, it (along with its sequel MW2) runs pretty well on my 1201N, we're talking 40+ frames per second at native resolution.

That is the concern I've had all along with these larger netbooks. Decent CPU with integrated graphics, or anemic CPU with ION. I guess it depends on what's most important to you. I was satisfied with my Acer Aspire 1410 CPU-wise but I wanted a little more out of the GPU. That's how I ended up with the Toshiba T115D-S1125. However, for the games you're considering I'd say the 4500MHD is more than adequate.

But maybe consider this Toshiba instead. The CPU is between SU2300 and SU7300 and GPU is loads better than the 4500MHD, and slightly behind the ION.

Thanks to nofoxman32 he already linked to my review. As a matter of fact, and I'm not trying to pimp my stuff, but my Toshiba used in the review is for sale, barely used. I'm going for an Alienware M11X, so swing by the NBR Marketplace if interested (see link in my sig too). Save you a few bucks.
