Hey all,
I bet you guys have heard of this problem before -- dynamic switchable graphics in a new HP Pavilion laptop don't allow OpenGL applications like Minecraft to use the discrete graphics but the weaker Intel GPU instead. The switchable graphics in this lappie and my cousin's constant complaint about Minecraft lagging like hell have so far given me a headache and I'm desperately looking for a solution. So far I only know of solutions for DV6 and DV7 models which provide a "fixed mode" for the switchable graphics. Do you guys know of a solution for DV4-3107TX? A working modded driver would do justice. :|

I already have. As I've said before, it doesn't allow Minecraft and other OpenGL apps to use the discrete graphics and forces them to use the on-board graphics instead, despite being set to "High Performance" graphics instead of "Power-Saving".
See here for more info about this issue. -
I can attest to Minecraft only using the Integrated graphics. I did a little snooping (forced the console window to show when Minecraft opens) And I found this little gem in the startup analysis for Optifine (A mod you might want to look into for performance BTW) This shows that Minecraft is clearly using the weaker 6620g Integrated card as opposed to my much more powerful 6770M
